In 2018, Change of Art was commissioned by DARE Festival to develop a new verbatim sound installation to be presented in The Ditch at Shoreditch Town Hall as part of the festival.

A flatmate who tells you not to give money to homeless people. A teacher who denies that colourism exists. A boyfriend who spends money like it’ll never run out, because technically it won’t, for him. The end of friendships. The start of arguments with people who just don’t like being wrong.

Change of Art share a multitude of stories about difficult conversations with friends, family and colleagues, gathered through door-knocking in the local community in Shoreditch.

Hear Here was supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

Change of Art worked with HOPE not Hate to run a door-knocking training session in Shoreditch with a group of volunteers who learnt how to use the technique to engage local residents in discussion about the difficult conversations they have had. Hear Here aims to form the headline act of the 2019 Change of Art Festival.
